I enjoyed the Indian Equator sites, tour and restaurant – all really good. Great guide for the Old Colonial Quito City Tour; and we had a good time at the museaum. Our tour to Otavalo Indian Market was really run. Thanks for being on our bus – we learnt a lot. I loved the guides; our bus driver was tops; restaurant was great. Hosteria San Jorge hotel services were great and everyone was so nice; food was good; we loved being here. Thanks so much!

I enjoyed the trip to the Indian Equator site, the one verified by GPS. Our guide Miriam was excellent, and I enjoyed the Quito City Tour also. The long trip to Otavalo was very interesting and a lot of fun. I enjoyed your comments on Ecuador as we traveled. And, I liked your unique hotel. Rooms are rustic; the food was exactly what I wanted, as it was Ecuadorian; the dining room was the right size. I really enjoyed my stay and I would like to return and perhaps go to one of your other facilities.

I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. George Cruz of Hosterìa San Jorge for the past 3 years, in the planning and execution of medical missions for NOVA Southern University and DO care in the United States to poorer communities in Ecuador From the planning phases, to an exploration mission of 20 people, to this year’s mission of 67 people, Dr. Cruz has been a solid , honorable, and trusted partner. Dr. Cruz set up all care sites for our medical mission in the poorer communities of Quito , Baeza, in Tena and in remote jungle areas. The coordination of large medical missions of this size requires special care and attention. In all aspects of our trips (i.e. meals, transportation, sleeping accommodations, community relations) Dr. Cruz gave excellent service. Those few minor problems that we did encounter were solved quickly and efficiently. In addition, our nights at the home base of Hosteria San Jorge were a delight. The accommodations are quaint. The food excellent, the grounds are lovely, the swimming pool and turkish, sauna- quite unexpected -and in all aspects, our stay make us feel the colonial Ecuador -with splashes of modern luxuries.

The staff of the Hosteria San Jorge its pleasant and efficient and all side activities that were planned through the Hosteria (i.e. Horseback riding on the 160 acre grounds of the Hosteria , rafting in the tributaries of the Amazon, day tours of Quito, shopping expeditions to Otavalo or jungle hiking and swimming under pristine waterfalls in San Jorge de Milpe Reserve) were very well coordinated and offered different tastes of Ecuador- from cloud forest to jungle, from historical to modern. Dr. Cruz `s knowledge of natural medicinal plants, and facilitation of meetings with jungle shamans were also invaluable exposures for our North American medical students.

I have also utilized Dr. Cruz`s Hosteria for personal vacation get-aways with my family and friends. In those small settings we were equally delighted and pampered. To this day, my mother still remembers the tango dancing with Dr Cruz, in front of a blazing fire in the dining hall as Dr. Cruz`s father played the accordion in accompaniment.

I have no reservations in recommending Hosteria San Jorge for your Ecuadorian get-aways - both small and grand. Dr. Cruz and his staff are thoughtful and dedicated and will make your time in South America a delight.

I look forward to many future years of medical missions and family vacations and memories made at Hosteria San Jorge.
